Planting in a basket helps contain the roots of invasive plants, makes it easy to move a plant, and allows for maintenance without emptying the pond. The basket is placed at the depth suitable for each species, directly on the bottom or on a shelf.
To make your choice, take the plant and its location into account:
small baskets (11 to 19 cm) for marginal plants and shallow zones;
large 40 cm models for water lilies and lotuses;
Velda and Superfish floating baskets for ponds without a planting shelf;
contour baskets and Plant Socks to follow a bank.
Line the basket with felt or burlap, use aquatic potting soil, and cover with gravel to prevent the soil from rising.
