Discover our spawning brushes for koi carp, artificial spawning beds that mimic aquatic vegetation. Females lay their eggs on them, whether in a garden pond or a breeding facility.
How to choose and position your brushes?
- Dimensions: Aquaforte brushes measuring 100 × 15 cm or 130 × 15 cm, or a pack of 2 Koi Pro brushes from Superfish.
- Season: In spring, when the water temperature exceeds 18°C, koi look for a soft, dense surface on which to spawn.
- Positioning: At mid-depth, in the calm, undisturbed areas of the pond.
- Quantity: Several brushes placed side by side form a screen where the carp feel safe.
Aquiflor's advice
After spawning, remove the brush and place it in a breeding tank to protect the eggs from the adults. The brushes can be rinsed and reused every season, and they prevent damage to your plants during spawning. Have a question about breeding your koi?
