Pond plants should not be planted in standard garden soil: it is too rich and too light, causing it to float to the surface and release nutrients that promote algae growth. Specialized aquatic plant soil is heavier and contains less organic matter.
The collection offers Moerings and Velda aquatic plant soil in 40-liter bags. It is used for repotting marginal plants, water lilies, or oxygenating plants in planting baskets.
To prevent the soil from floating up, cover the surface of the basket with a layer of gravel before submerging it. Repot preferably in the spring, at the beginning of the growing season.
